This is the side of the old telegraph building in an abandoned town on the Thirty Mile River (Yukon River). I am sure the old lantern has probably been removed by someone by now. This was once an old RCMP station during the heyday of the sternwheelers. Hootalinqua Island is nearby and that is one of the places where they used to pull the sternwheelers up out of the water onto wheys where they rested for the winter. The original painting is held in a private collection. In 2001 it was selected by the BC Wildlife Federation to be printed as a card and Signed Limited Edition Print by them for fundraising purposes.
